Private Music Lessons in Ellicott City
We can teach you to play the guitar, drums, bass, saxophone, piano, brass instruments, and more at our music school. Our teachers have degrees in music, vast teaching experience, and perform at a professional level, and they’ve worked with countless kids, teens, and adults. You will be treated as a unique individual with unique goals – we won’t force you to perform or learn certain types of music just to fit into our programs. If you want to play the Haydn Trumpet Concerto for an audition, we’ll help you, and if you want to play blues on the piano, we’ll help you with that too. Classical musicians, jazz instruments, and rock singers alike enjoy lessons with the expert teaching staff at Soundcheck.
What Makes us Different: Our Rock Band Program
Students at Soundcheck Rock Academy have the opportunity to use their new musical skills and make new friends in our rock band program. They can play guitar, drums, keyboard, or sing, and they can become a multi-instrumentalist if you would like (like many great rock stars!).
After you have learned the basics of your instrument, our teachers will add you to a band with members at a similar skill level. You will have guided rehearsals, learn a set, and even have the opportunity to perform. Many of our bands stick together for years, and the members often become good friends. We have band opportunities for pre-college students and adults.

Our Ellicott City Music School Location
While technically in Columbia, MD, Soundcheck Rock Academy sits right on the border between Ellicott City and Columbia. Many of our students (if not most) live in Ellicott City. 9051 Red Branch Road is just off Rt. 100, and if you’re traveling south to our location, you can easily catch 29, follow it to Rt. 100, and arrive at our studio in a few minutes.
We are surrounded by stores, restaurants, and businesses, so if you’d like to get errands done while your kids are in music lessons, this is the perfect opportunity!
